Makes you wonder....
In ethics today, we spoke of Nietzsche and his ideals of power and the "Superman". I made an observation that the comic book character Superman didn't really fit those ideas. He has no love of power....Or does he? And what about the allegations about his son? It makes you think more about your childhood heros, eh?

If I Seem Snappish...
It's probably because I am. Not only am I dealing with the constant "fun" of all of my classes, and my job, I've got other sources of stress. Trying to figure out, solidfy, etc., my beliefs, morals, and stands thereof. Oh, and my mom dropped a double bomb on me this weekend. First, my grandparents (mother's parents) have sold and are moving off their farm. The one they've always lived on in my memory. I mean, that place was a constant. But also, my grandmother (mother's mother) has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Thankfully, it's pretty early on, nothing major yet, and she's on medication, but...it's....it's still hard. My grandparents have been sick or hurt before. Flu, tractors rolling over on them, cows running over them (my grandad seems to have things like that happen once in a while)....but they always got better. She won't get better from this this side of heaven. And you know....they're in their 70s, if I recall correctly....I try not to think about it...but they aren't constants. So yeah, I'm kind of dealing with stuff right not.

Hm....

how jedi are you? :: by lawrie malen
I Am A: Lawful Good Human Paladin Fighter
Alignment:
Lawful Good characters are the epitome of all that is just and good. They believe in order and governments that work for the benefit of all, and generally do not mind doing direct work to further their beliefs.
Race:
Humans are the 'average' race. They have the shortest life spans, and because of this, they tend to avoid the racial prejudices that other races are known for. They are also very curious and tend to live 'for the moment'.
Primary Class:
Paladins are the Holy Warriors. They have been chosen by a God/dess to be their representative on Earth, and must follow the code of that deity, or risk severe penalties. They tend towards being righteous, but not generally to excess.
Secondary Class:
Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer.
Deity:
Tyr is the Lawful Good god of justice. He is also known as Tyr Grimjaws, Wounded Tyr, the Maimed God, and Blind Tyr. He appears as a warrior, missing his hand. Followers of Tyr are concerned first and foremost with justice - discovering the truth and punishing the guilty for their crimes. They wear blue and purple robes with a white sash, a white gauntlet on the left hand, and a black gauntlet on the right, to symbolize Tyr's lost hand. Their preferred weapon is the warhammer. Tyr's symbol is a set of scales resting on a warhammer.

Academic Possiblity
It has come to my attention that there is a conference on, among other things, Medieval Literature/Art/Etc.. If I wish, I could write the paper for this, and if it got accepted, get out of two grades in Hero Quest-probably the final test and a journal set. Plus, I mean, I'd be reading a paper at a conference. Catch #1: I have to write a paper. Catch #2: To do this for Hero Quest, I have to have at least a rough abstract by tomorrow. I just don't know for sure yet if I want to do this. Prayer for a decision would be keen. Laters.
