Thoughts from Church Today

So the pastor at Olathe Wesleyan (where I have typically been going with my family) has been doing a sermon series out of 1 John entitled "Life in the Light Brigade". So far, they've all been good, solid sermons. Anyways. Today, he worked with a passage in the second chapter that just stuck out at me. I think God really intended for me to see it, and get encouragement from it.
1 John 2:24-29 (Italics in following quote mine or pastor's)
"As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. The Promise Is Eternal Life. This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him."
I'd really been having some inner turmoil, worrying about thinking and saying things that might not be agreeable to this person or group, or if it was too much of something or another. Reading this made me realize again that the only opinion that matters is God's. I shouldn't worry about anything but Him and His truth. My focus should be on Truth and doing right in His eyes.
P.S. If you would like the sermon outline for today (entitled "Firewall your P.C. (Personal Christianity)), I should be able to whip it up on here.

*Growls*

Well, I have a lead today on a job that would be during normal day hours, might give me more definite days of work, and pays just as well as any temp factory job I might get (I am currently "jobless", and haven't worked for a couple of days). Unfortunately, my car decided it didn't want to start this afternoon when I was going to go out for some errands. I guess it's good that it's still here at home, but.....no car. With my mom out of town this week, and dad having long workdays, that's really not cool at all. Here's to hoping he can figure out and fix the problem himself.
*Update* Turns out it was just my car battery flopping out on me. I'm good to go now in the car department.

Question

Does it come in black?

Saddening....

Nothing is sacred in this country anymore, except for those things that should never have been sacred.
